Umbau und Erweiterung- Kursaal bei Passau

The refurbishment transforms the existing Kursaal in Bad Griesbach into a modern, flexible and clear building with a series of auditoriums.

The interior is minimalist with white walls creating a distinct contrast to the dark oak floor. Existing beams structure the illuminated ceiling and create a rhythm for the large spaces. Due to the illuminated ceiling an even lighting level can be achieved throughout. Spotlights can be fixed to the existing beams in order to increase the lighting level where needed. Daylight can be blocked out completely via internal timber shutters that are part of the wall panelling with acoustic properties.

The new facade gives a clear structure to the building; the grid allows for flexible integration of openable panels or doors.
